This project looks to create terraced student apartments that overlook Westwood. By bisecting the mass laterally and vertically, the building’s mass is reduced while creating a duality between the two sides. The passageway between the building acts as a canyon between the two volumes. Each volume has separate bay windows to further articulate each segment of the building, hiding the fact that this is a ten-story building. The roof decks take advantage of the views toward downtown and campus and are shared between each segment of the building.
The complex includes 42 units with a total of 216 beds, as well as a roof deck, common laundry areas, and service parking.
